PROJECT LIFE WEEK 15

Hi everyone, am late with sharing Project Life but off-screen I have been keeping on track with my Project Life. So there might be a blitz of Project Life posts, but I'm sure you won't mind (:

Here you have it, Project Life Week 15 in it's glory.

Just a few notes, I'm still washi-ing up my PL layouts and using up label stickers. Also I decided to use these 3x3 square placed page protectors from WRMK, to house bigger blown up instagram photos. Was an interesting experiment and I might use it again (: Another note is that I got to use the wooden veneers that came in with my Studio Calico box.

Pretty simple, and quick as I have been getting busier. I am liking using the real estate punch, chopping it off slightly and outlining it with a white pen before adding the journaling it in. Still loving my JBS doily punch alot.

Aren't the map backed thickers cool. And I like the stars adding in a little touch and the airmail washi giving it a total travel feel,(even though I didn't do any traveling per say during this trip).

I kept the instagram page simple as I dont really lik putting more than a label sticker atop a photo. So easy peasy came this page.

However I did something different for the back which I am happy with, but that is to share another time. Do chime in if there are any questions and I'll be happy to answer them (:

Happy start of the week everyone!

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 14

Just to share my Project Life Week 14.

I did a one page spread only for Week 13 and hence decided to only do a single page for Week 14 so as to "balance" out the album. That may change down the road, but it's okay as it's my project, not for anyone in particular else.

A simple colourful week, using big photos to tell the story as well as sticky labels and a label stamp to tell the story. And yes I included my overnight blitz of creating gifts with my silhouette.

Was also excited to get my limited edition floral washi tape in the mail. *happy dance* I also decided also to make use of my growing collection of washi tape to do up the background for the dates part of the page.

I also decided to do a week in review card again, using the days of the week stickers that come with the core kit.

The Stepping Stone Alphabet from Studio Calico is really just the right size for use on the 3'x4' inch cards.

Here's to hoping to have more posts up to share this week.

A PHOTOFRAME OR TWO, OR SIX

A very blessed Easter to everyone!

Just a quick share today of some gifts that I whipped up over the  Easter weekend, most importantly, by making use of my silhouette.

This is truly the bestest part of the silhouette, at least for me- no more worrying about needing the particular font, in the particular colour to match your projects, and most importantly - no more running out of important alphabets that you use the most frequently, which sometimes renders the rest of the pack unuseable.

Let me chime in and say I will still buy thickers for the dimension and visual interest and differentiation, especially for own use, so thickers will still make an appearance, especially in Project Life. But, especially for names, the silhouette works wonders.

When I approached this project, I had wanted to make it special for the recepient and it doesn't get any more special than having your name on the picture frame, definitely something that no one else would have/want to have.
The frames are from Ikea, which I covered with patterned paper and added a typed out phrase of the event. I then proceeded to type out their names and weld them together in the software so that it would come out as a single piece.

I then backed it on cardstock/glitter paper for the girls, used foam dots and hey presto!, with the addition of a flower/ camera cutout, the frames were done. I had actually wanted to cut the names with glitter paper, but couldn't get my silhouette to cut through, despite using double cut. Will have to try and experiment more.

Here is a look at all the frames if you are interested. I think it makes the perfect personalised present for anyone (:

For those in Singapore, hurry down to Scraplicious to see how this machine can be used and pre-order it at a special price of just S$399. The store had actually brought a few sets of the machines in, but they were wiped out the minute they hit the shelves (nearly as fast as the new ipad :P)

They are available on pre-order now, so hurry, you will want to get your hands on this machine and eliminate your "not-enough-alphabets" woes. And of course if you need any help, feel free to drop me a  mail or comment and I'll be happy to answer, to my best abilities, any questions that you may have.

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 13

Hi everyone,

Just a quick update for Project Life today. It was a busy, but routine week here that I had, so the whole week is on just one page for this week.

And that is fine with me. It's better than stressing over trying to fill in the pockets got the sake of doing it (:

I recently went into a sequin craze, scattering it like confetti, a trend that has been hot in certain circles recent. I call it my shiny confetti.

Also, I snipped one of my camera cards into half to use it as a 'tag' of sorts. Also I'm continuing to use yellow thread to add stitching. Also noteworthy- airmail coloured washi. If you are looking for it Scraplicious, my LSS in Singapore, just brought in a whole new assortment of masking tapes, including this one, so head down there if you are interested.

It was also Earth Hour on Week 13 and I was witness to it in the busiest section of town and it was cool to see how all the lights dimmed for the hour.

Do you spot the camera flair with the wooden background? It's coming soonish to my etsy.

On the topic of my etsy store, I have a new listing.

A fun mixture of doilies, paper bags, shipping tags, twine, sequins and exclusive vintage flowers flair.

Here's a close up look:

Hope you are having a good week! Mine has been swamped, but I hope to check back in soon.

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 12

Am caught up now going strong with Week 12, and yes, Week 9 will be out on this blog soon. *keep on reading downwards as I have something exciting going on there*

This week was a very colourful week as my photos were really colourful too, being in the city of Bangkok for most of the week, so I went a little colourful with my paper selection and I really like this week. In addition,I have an insert (something that I truly thought that I might never need), due to the number of photos that I took that I really want to document.

Here is the left side with the insert. I did photographed it this way as I thought it would be easier to read and see.

All sorts of fun stuff that I used here, including some of the products in my etsy store and my "hot-at-the-moment" doily punch. Funny how we take many many many more photos when we are overseas. But I think along the process I've learnt to cut down on the multiple photos that I take as I have no patience to look through all of them.

The American Craft thickers are finicky and so I sticked them down and ran the sewing machine through them for good measure, of course I like that look too. For some variety, I used yellow thread for the first time over the BKK words. Am still madly in love with the polka dot vellum and just want to continue to find new ways to use it.

And on to the right side,

Used a bunch of my favourite things, including the Dear Lizzy Camera stamp, Stepping Stone Alpha, Vintage Doily martha steward punch, Papertrey Ink Doily, my own printable journaling cards, manila shipping tag and labels, any many labels.

Spot the instgram stamp mark there. Yes I tried my own hand at designing my own after seeing Kelly Purkey show hers off. So this is my own interpretation for an instagram stamp. Given how much we use instagram in this day and age, I forsee myself using it more and not just on my Project Life pages.

I have some favourite pockets that I really liked from this week and want to just share some of them and some of the things that I did with them.
I am totally on board the chevron craze as you can tell and a doily one too (: And I loved using one of the camera flair button that I designed that can be found here, as a part of a set of six.
And the photo is a common sight that is seen in Bangkok all the time.

Added a bit of personalisation with a stamp on the top border of the 3x4 card, as well as punch outs from the Vintage Doily punches. The patterned papers came with the label printed on it, perfect for little bits of journaling.

More use of the yellow thread, love the effect even though I'm lazy to change out the thread from time to time.

Wanted to save this napkin that I bought at Chatuchak because of the pretty patterns on it. In order not to "damage" the napkin I put the descriptive label on the plastic pocket.

Used my Polaroid journaling cards, found here, in this pocket. Like how it gives a pop of colour to the pocket (:

Here's how the pages look in my album now.

Now for another little announcement, as I alluded to in my previous post(s) and as some of you have guessed, I plan on making some stamps in gorgeous red rubber with wooden handles, mainly for my own use but I'll be offering them in my store. They won't look like the ones I pictured previously but would look like this instead:

And to celebrate their entering the store, I will be offering them at a special pre-order price, until Good Friday on 6 April (Friday). Shipping is US$4 internationally for the first stamp (unless you stay in Singapore) and US$1 for each subsequent stamp. (Note that if you order than more than one stamp, I will refund the balance extra shipping that is charged.)

Here are what the designs will look like with the dimensions that they will be printed in. (ignore the watermark ''piecedpapers', the final designs will not have them).

IN THE AIR

Hi from up in the sky everyone! Well actually I've already landed, but took this photo while in the air this morning. I'm off and overseas again, this time back to Bangkok.

For my newer readers, I was in Bangkok last year end and had created my own minibook to fill in on the trip. You can read more about it as well as view the album here.

This time around, as the time was tighter, I used one of the original Amy Tangerine Daybooks. And of course I made it my own. Here's a picture of some of the items that I brough along this trip around to make my own minibook for Bangkok. And yes * sheepish grin* I have not yet finished my Hong Kong trip one yet, but move on to what's going on in the present and keep documenting, especially my travels.

Yes I brought my doily punch along for this trip and the Stepping Stone Add-on Alpha to work with as well as more than just these few rolls of washi.

Here's a close-up of the cover that I have done.

Can you identify any of the items used here? I love the polaroid pattern paper from the latest dear lizzy collection which I used on the cover, and it is available at Scraplicious in Singapore, though I heard it is flying off the shelves. I'm  also itching to put some sequins on the cover.

As for my special project that I mentioned yesterday, some of you got it but not totally correct. And I will reveal more in time to come.

Hope you liked my short little sharing (:
