PROJECT LIFE WEEK 12

Am caught up now going strong with Week 12, and yes, Week 9 will be out on this blog soon. *keep on reading downwards as I have something exciting going on there*

This week was a very colourful week as my photos were really colourful too, being in the city of Bangkok for most of the week, so I went a little colourful with my paper selection and I really like this week. In addition,I have an insert (something that I truly thought that I might never need), due to the number of photos that I took that I really want to document.

Here is the left side with the insert. I did photographed it this way as I thought it would be easier to read and see.

All sorts of fun stuff that I used here, including some of the products in my etsy store and my "hot-at-the-moment" doily punch. Funny how we take many many many more photos when we are overseas. But I think along the process I've learnt to cut down on the multiple photos that I take as I have no patience to look through all of them.

The American Craft thickers are finicky and so I sticked them down and ran the sewing machine through them for good measure, of course I like that look too. For some variety, I used yellow thread for the first time over the BKK words. Am still madly in love with the polka dot vellum and just want to continue to find new ways to use it.

And on to the right side,

Used a bunch of my favourite things, including the Dear Lizzy Camera stamp, Stepping Stone Alpha, Vintage Doily martha steward punch, Papertrey Ink Doily, my own printable journaling cards, manila shipping tag and labels, any many labels.

Spot the instgram stamp mark there. Yes I tried my own hand at designing my own after seeing Kelly Purkey show hers off. So this is my own interpretation for an instagram stamp. Given how much we use instagram in this day and age, I forsee myself using it more and not just on my Project Life pages.

I have some favourite pockets that I really liked from this week and want to just share some of them and some of the things that I did with them.
I am totally on board the chevron craze as you can tell and a doily one too (: And I loved using one of the camera flair button that I designed that can be found here, as a part of a set of six.
And the photo is a common sight that is seen in Bangkok all the time.

Added a bit of personalisation with a stamp on the top border of the 3x4 card, as well as punch outs from the Vintage Doily punches. The patterned papers came with the label printed on it, perfect for little bits of journaling.

More use of the yellow thread, love the effect even though I'm lazy to change out the thread from time to time.

Wanted to save this napkin that I bought at Chatuchak because of the pretty patterns on it. In order not to "damage" the napkin I put the descriptive label on the plastic pocket.

Used my Polaroid journaling cards, found here, in this pocket. Like how it gives a pop of colour to the pocket (:

Here's how the pages look in my album now.

Now for another little announcement, as I alluded to in my previous post(s) and as some of you have guessed, I plan on making some stamps in gorgeous red rubber with wooden handles, mainly for my own use but I'll be offering them in my store. They won't look like the ones I pictured previously but would look like this instead:

And to celebrate their entering the store, I will be offering them at a special pre-order price, until Good Friday on 6 April (Friday). Shipping is US$4 internationally for the first stamp (unless you stay in Singapore) and US$1 for each subsequent stamp. (Note that if you order than more than one stamp, I will refund the balance extra shipping that is charged.)

Here are what the designs will look like with the dimensions that they will be printed in. (ignore the watermark ''piecedpapers', the final designs will not have them).

IN THE AIR

Hi from up in the sky everyone! Well actually I've already landed, but took this photo while in the air this morning. I'm off and overseas again, this time back to Bangkok.

For my newer readers, I was in Bangkok last year end and had created my own minibook to fill in on the trip. You can read more about it as well as view the album here.

This time around, as the time was tighter, I used one of the original Amy Tangerine Daybooks. And of course I made it my own. Here's a picture of some of the items that I brough along this trip around to make my own minibook for Bangkok. And yes * sheepish grin* I have not yet finished my Hong Kong trip one yet, but move on to what's going on in the present and keep documenting, especially my travels.

Yes I brought my doily punch along for this trip and the Stepping Stone Add-on Alpha to work with as well as more than just these few rolls of washi.

Here's a close-up of the cover that I have done.

Can you identify any of the items used here? I love the polaroid pattern paper from the latest dear lizzy collection which I used on the cover, and it is available at Scraplicious in Singapore, though I heard it is flying off the shelves. I'm  also itching to put some sequins on the cover.

As for my special project that I mentioned yesterday, some of you got it but not totally correct. And I will reveal more in time to come.

Hope you liked my short little sharing (:

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 11

I'm back with Project Life Week 11 and its loaded with something new and exciting (at least to me). Here's a small hint of what's to come.

Any guesses?

Well I used it on my Project Life this week.... and yes I know that I have yet to share Week 9 but it is done and I am all caught up and happy about it. It really helps to be up-to-date quickly because I download my photos regularly.

So here is Week 11 in all its glory (:

I love that vellum cloud paper, so much so that I wanted to keep the vellum free from "items" on it. The water colour feel with the "see-through" quality of the vellum.

It's a bit of a different type of date card for me, very floral, but the experimenting of something new every week is what I like about Project Life. Also I typed on vellum for the first time.

The tag is one that I am experimenting with for my etsy shop, as a name card of sorts.

A shoutout to Missy who sent me the stamp as well as a lovely chevron one. This week also brought the introduction of the most fabulous cheesy/salsa dip.

And once in a while it is good to keep things simple with the journaling cards which I did for this side.

Sorry for the short descriptions, but if you have any questions, let me know in the comments and I'll try to answer them.

So any ideas on my little brewing project? I'm sure that you must have guessed and I will share in due course as I am trying to finalise a few things.

FAREWELL GIFT

Just a short post to share a farewell gift that I had created for a colleague who left recently.

Supplies: Prima, Pebbles, Papertrey Ink, K & Co, Jenni Bowlin, American Crafts

Basically a simple wooden letter from Cotton On Kids, though I believe that they are discontinuing these letters, and I prettied it up and personalised it. Actually this was a 'W' but due to a lack of letters, I turned it around and made it a 'M'.

The letter stickers are from Pebbles newest release and I love them a lot, though the glitter falls from time to time. I used the Dear Lizzy Vellum too, love the pick polka dots. I used it actually in my Project Life post yesterday, overlaying the words Hong Kong on my photo, and I like the subtleness that it brings.

Hope that I have given you some ideas on a simple yet effective looking personalised gift. Thanks for looking and have a good long weekend. I hope I have something cool to share with you next week that is currently brewing.

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 10

Being overseas really truly threw me off balance at least where Project Life was concerned. And even as I'm working on getting back on schedule, I'm going overseas again soon... However even with the little that I have done so far for Project Life, I really enjoy looking back on it and seeing the weeks that have passed.

Just realised that I have not done my February Project Life review, but given my schedule this month, it looks like it is possible that I would do both February and March together.

So I have not yet completed Week 9 but decided to jump ahead to Week 10 as the memories are fresher in my mind. And of course being overseas, I took more pictures than usual. But I will get back to Week 9.

One dilemma I faced was that I was doing a mini album for my Hong Kong trip too, so having to balanced out photos between the two seemed to be a need within my mind. In the end though I decided that it was no point stressing over and instead to just do what seemed natural and the best idea to me.

So here is my Week 10, though a bit simpler than other weeks, has lots of memories.

Pardon the slightly blurred photo, will retake it when I can

A close up of the left side
I love that dear lizzy mason jar stamp (available at Scraplicious) and adore that it fits nicely into the size 2 shipping tags. I forsee lots of uses for this particular stamp. Also my papertry ink doily dies came in too, and I have started on a rampage of sorts to cut and use them.

As always labels are my most favourite thing to use on Project Life especially when I want big photos and a bit of journaling to remember them.

I have also been using my punches more. Pictured on the right in kraft is a tag that I created with the EK success Real Estate Sign punch and cutting off a third of the punched out image. Will definitely revisit doing this again.

Think that it was quite noteworthy that the this is the first time that I have received a fortune cookie. This is as fortune cookies, though found in Chinese restaurants, are really very much a Western invention. So though commonplace in the West for Chinese restaurants to have and serve after a meal it is a rarity of gigantic proportions in Asia. However at the China Club in Hong Kong, I guessed it was served as majority of its clientle are expats/caucasians. I think I was at the only Asian table in the resturant. That said it was great fun to play with it, though mine was "practical advice" rather than some prediction on the future.

Again you can see the real estate punch being used on my layouts (:

For more details of my Project Life process and the items that I use frequently while doing up my Project Life pages, head to the Scraplicious blog, where I share some of my favourite often reached for items while doing Project Life.

ON THE PLANE

It's going to be a little more quiet than usual here as I am overseas in Hong Kong.

To prepare for documenting during the trip, I did the same thing that I did for Bangkok last year, by preparing a mini-book to be filled along the way while I am on the trip.

And I started working on it on the plane

Those items surrounding my minibook are but a small portion of the things I brought along to scrap along the way... I definitely over-packed scrapping supplies. I'll try to update as my book progresses, but limited light will be an obstacle for sure. So stay tuned to my possible live updates of my progress with the book. I have my trusty pivi mp300 with me, but won't print all the picture with it, just the important ones (:

For those in Singapore who were interested in the sneak that I posted the other day, here's the class schedule from Scraplicious.
The class name that I showed the sneak of is "Pretty in Pink". Here's the sneak again for reference (:

Hope to see you in class and have a good rest of the week!
