ANOTHER PROJECT LIFE CATCH UP

Project Life catch up alert!!! This means a barrage of the past few weeks of my Project Life catch up in place. (: And noting down small significant moments.

The publication of my name in the glory box of the magazine for the first time. And I love the woodgrain chevron by Alison Kraft for Echo Park.

It was also the saying goodbye to a dear friend who is going to spend at least a year in Japan. I also had the chance to go for the local launch of Canon's new four-thirds series of camera.

Did you know that Legoland is opening in Malaysia Johor, barely an hour away from Singapore. Love all the replicas of famous landmarks in Lego, the best part of the park if you ask me, though I like all the parts which are made of Lego, which is scattered everywhere, I kid you not.

This also marked my first time driving around in a buggy on my own. True Story: I couldn't figure out how to reverse my buggy for a good five minutes before giving in and asking for help ;(

Angry Bird mooncakes also graced our office, stirring much excitement amongst everyone. Love the Starburst stamp from Studio Calico and still making good use of the Lawn Fawn stamps that I have a new obsession about.

Percival the dinosaur has got my hear with the flatness and absolutely cuteness.

PROJECT LIFE CATCH-UP

Catch up in postings that is - though I must say that I have been scaling down from the past where I could do a week in a two page spread. After reaching the half year mark (and still being on the project... yay me!), I am probably going to head towards doing a two page spread every fortnight and being flexible enough to change things as they need to be done. No pressure too, as it is about the memories that are documented, not about having done it religiously.

There was a children's event at the museum in June and I made my way there with a few of my favourite kids. And of course the best exhibits would have been the ones that made it to the page. Particularly cool was the UV light exhibit which made everything glow, as well as the interactive exhibit with iconic images in black and white, reproducing as you spoke into the mike.

Thus there was also loads of journaling thrown into the mix... which reminds me that I really need to dig out my typewriter and my sewing machine again... because I want to, not have to (:

I'M BACK

It's been nearly a month since I last posted, but much has happened since then and I think I am finally adjusted back to a rhythm and routine.

As a result too, I have been scrapping more and catching up on PL, though I am now deliberating about how best to capture the last month as I have not been taking enough photos.... yes ironic I know as scrappers ought to be full of photo taking enthusiasm.

So to mark my re-emergence in the blogging world, I'm back with a card as well as one Project Life spread to share.

First the card,

Supplies: Studio Calico, Crate Paper, Maya Road, Lawn Fawn, Hero Arts

I decided to play with a brown, yellow and grey scheme and I very much love how it came out. I have also been having lots of fun with the hero arts midtone shadow inks as they have been fantastic to use, giving really good coverage for the acrylic stamps that I have.

Still like the EP camera's a lot, and the cupcake that you see, it's awesome. I can't remember what exactly is inside and what it is called, but it's a gorgeous combination of chocolate, peanuts, caramel and chocolate balls....mmmm...yum!

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 19 & 20

Hi everyone!

I know I have been absent from blog land for awhile, but I'm back with Project Life Week 19 & 20.

For those who are struggling to keep up, give yourself permission to break the rules: not finish one week, not have any photos for the week, only do a single page spread, skip a month. I think that looking back you would realise that you cherish the memories that you managed to document and probably will not be thinking, so what did I do on April 23 2012, five years from now. (though it would be nice to know (: )

So without further ado, Weeks 19 and 20 on a double page spread

This week was a big week about me and my photography and thinking about taking it to the next level. Ironically I didn't take that many photos this week, so a few of the spaces were filled with screen captures and filler cards.

Loved using my Studio Calico Project Life slanted stamps in this week's spread and more washi tape too.

Just a quick close up for a few more details. On another note, I think I'm seeing my handwriting change and evolve.

Kept is simple for this side, and I like is, particularly the journaling card, second from left, with the washi tape and wooden veneer camera. Love it! That grey chevron My Mind's Eye tape is divine and definitely one of my all time favourite designs.

CARDS AND SUCH

As every good scrapper should with the hoard that we all know we secretly have, it is near a travesty to go ahead and buy a card when there are more than abundant supplies readily available at home.

Making cards for me is somewhat of a dilemma, especially when I make a card that I really like and then have to give it away. It is also a challenge to balance between the fine line of the card being too simple or overly embellished. So here is my version of the cards that I needed over the weekend and thus quickly whipped them up.

Supplies: Silhouette SD, Crate Paper, My Mind's Eye, October Afternoon, Martha Stewart, EK Success, Jenni Bowlin

Yes I used my silhouette for all the titles of the the cards as they were all similar and using up the same letters The miser in me didn't want a pack of thickers to disintegrate and be "useless" due to the 'S' and 'E's being used up.The Crate Paper rose is a classic, I feel, and can be used for any card or delicate feminine project.

Next up , another birthday card, this time for a boy.

 Supplies: Silhouette SD, Jenni Bowlin, Crate Paper, Echo Park, Studio Calico, Prima

As the white words were not standing out from the background behind as much as I wished that they would, I layered the birthday word on a teal patterned paper and cut around it, while inking the other title with a teal chalk ink from prima.

Again I used banners as it's a birthday (: and I absolutely love the camera from echo park, that whole piece of paper, my only comment being that I wished that the cameras were bigger on the patterned paper.

Last, but not least, a graduation card.

Supplies: Crate Paper, Martha Stewart, Whisker Graphics, The Twinery, Studio Calico

My obsession with the wooden veneer stars lives on, and I think that they are really appropriate for a graduation card. I'm still loving woodgrain and this particular woodgrain from the Crate Paper Christmas line of 2011 has my heart. I used it to cut out one of my favourite butterfly shapes from the silhouette store.

That's all I have to share today and I'm liking the card making, so I might make more to store and share them too.

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 16

Week 16 and I am working on Week 17 even as we are in Week 18, so weeeeee.... I'm still on track. This is the point where usually things start to become tedious when doing a year-long project, so working through it or giving yourself an off to miss a week or two or even a month is fine.

This week, I played with squares, used more veneer, played with new washi, and true to form, stuck to my labels.

As I didn't have as many instagrams this week, I filled in the rest with patterned paper and added a date card as well. It was interested to word with squares instead of the usual rectangles during Project Life.

I also enjoyed using the Amy Tan thickers, which are foam, which I have found are usually the type of thickers that I enjoy the most as they usually stay in place and are most flexible still especially for an indecisive scrapping mind like mine.

Love the little star veneers that are small enough not to be a scene dealer, yet a suitable accent piece.

Lots of journaling and much tauhuey that was bought. If you are in Singapore, you must have heard of Lao Ban soya bean curd, with outlets at Old Airport Road and Maxwell Food Centre. It is soya bean curd that has the texture or egg custard, and is extremely popular in Singapore with long snaking queues most of the time. If you happen to be there and there is no queue, it is more than likely that there is no more left.

So here you have it, my PL Week 16, especially with lots of food photos. I'm not too sure if it is a good thing or bad, but I link my memories to food that I partake (:

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 15

Hi everyone, am late with sharing Project Life but off-screen I have been keeping on track with my Project Life. So there might be a blitz of Project Life posts, but I'm sure you won't mind (:

Here you have it, Project Life Week 15 in it's glory.

Just a few notes, I'm still washi-ing up my PL layouts and using up label stickers. Also I decided to use these 3x3 square placed page protectors from WRMK, to house bigger blown up instagram photos. Was an interesting experiment and I might use it again (: Another note is that I got to use the wooden veneers that came in with my Studio Calico box.

Pretty simple, and quick as I have been getting busier. I am liking using the real estate punch, chopping it off slightly and outlining it with a white pen before adding the journaling it in. Still loving my JBS doily punch alot.

Aren't the map backed thickers cool. And I like the stars adding in a little touch and the airmail washi giving it a total travel feel,(even though I didn't do any traveling per say during this trip).

I kept the instagram page simple as I dont really lik putting more than a label sticker atop a photo. So easy peasy came this page.

However I did something different for the back which I am happy with, but that is to share another time. Do chime in if there are any questions and I'll be happy to answer them (:
