MORE OF 2012

Here's more of what I did for 2012.

One thing I've realised from doing PL from last year to this year is that last year I was truly all about the colour. From my cards to the pictures I took.

While doing this year's pages, albeit they were less fussy as it was a restart in being crafty again of sorts, it's more minimalist. Perhaps it is because I chose to work with the Midnight kit which I do love. But I'm craving some colour and personally am looking forward to adding the Project Life Sunshine kit by Elsie and Emma to my collection for some pop of colour.

Till then I'll using the huge washi stash that I have accumulated to add neon colours into the spread. I should interrupt 2012 with some of my 2013 spreads to share I guess.

Well, here are some more 2012 shares.

A trip to Legoland Malaysia for the Media Day Out Preview brought back memories of having visited Legoland Denmark (the original) when I was much younger

The amount of detail that attention is paid to is amazing

Some PR work and me trying my hand at embroidery, sweets style.

This year as explained, documenting life has been challenging given the feel of lack of time that I didn't even take that many photos. But as I started filling in the gaps again, I've realised how much this project does mean to me in terms of remembering the memories that I have passed, and I am grateful for having taken the time to document.

Hence though 2013 would look very abbreviated for the first half of the year, it's better documented from this point forth than none at all (:

A RESTART ON PL

Life has been busy. My previous job was draining me and there was little time to do anything else but work. Thankfully I have since left the company and now have much more time on hands and had the chance to pick-up doing Project Life again.

In fact the job had consumed me so much that I didn't have even the chance to upload all my layouts from last year, of which the documentation sadly really stopped exactly when I started at the new place.

So to start off, I'm going to share those that I haven't had the chance from last year to share.

Love using the Basic Grey letter stickers on photos to highlight words on photographs. This layout was documenting nearly exactly one year ago. How time has passed.

I'll be back with more on of my pages and of course sharing this year's pages soon. Till then tata.

Some DT work

PhotobucketHi everyone,

Just some layouts to share using the October Studio Calico Roller Rink Kit that I got from scrappinstudio.

Using contents from the kit, I decided that I wanted the wooden chevron to be part of the focus, and used strips of patterned paper to "decorate" the chevrons. I decided to juxtapose this chevron with the wooden veneer chevrons in the "Crack the Whip" add-on. Love using the woodgrain thickers too (:

I put my Silhouette Cameo to use with this layout, cutting 27, the age I'm turning, and highlighted one, by putting a different color behind one of the digits. I also decided to use the phrases in the sticker sheet that I thought would define what I want to continue growing in grace to be. I'm also a tad obsessed with the wooden veneer chevrons.

Hope you liked what I have to share. I'm still working on more projects that I hope to get more of a chance to share with you. Till then, toodles.

ANOTHER PROJECT LIFE CATCH UP

Project Life catch up alert!!! This means a barrage of the past few weeks of my Project Life catch up in place. (: And noting down small significant moments.

The publication of my name in the glory box of the magazine for the first time. And I love the woodgrain chevron by Alison Kraft for Echo Park.

It was also the saying goodbye to a dear friend who is going to spend at least a year in Japan. I also had the chance to go for the local launch of Canon's new four-thirds series of camera.

Did you know that Legoland is opening in Malaysia Johor, barely an hour away from Singapore. Love all the replicas of famous landmarks in Lego, the best part of the park if you ask me, though I like all the parts which are made of Lego, which is scattered everywhere, I kid you not.

This also marked my first time driving around in a buggy on my own. True Story: I couldn't figure out how to reverse my buggy for a good five minutes before giving in and asking for help ;(

Angry Bird mooncakes also graced our office, stirring much excitement amongst everyone. Love the Starburst stamp from Studio Calico and still making good use of the Lawn Fawn stamps that I have a new obsession about.

Percival the dinosaur has got my hear with the flatness and absolutely cuteness.

That's all for today. Have done more but the weather hasn't been good enough, or rather I haven't been at home when the sun is up. Will be back soon with more (:

PROJECT LIFE CATCH-UP

Catch up in postings that is - though I must say that I have been scaling down from the past where I could do a week in a two page spread. After reaching the half year mark (and still being on the project... yay me!), I am probably going to head towards doing a two page spread every fortnight and being flexible enough to change things as they need to be done. No pressure too, as it is about the memories that are documented, not about having done it religiously.

There was a children's event at the museum in June and I made my way there with a few of my favourite kids. And of course the best exhibits would have been the ones that made it to the page. Particularly cool was the UV light exhibit which made everything glow, as well as the interactive exhibit with iconic images in black and white, reproducing as you spoke into the mike.

Thus there was also loads of journaling thrown into the mix... which reminds me that I really need to dig out my typewriter and my sewing machine again... because I want to, not have to (:

I'M BACK

It's been nearly a month since I last posted, but much has happened since then and I think I am finally adjusted back to a rhythm and routine.

As a result too, I have been scrapping more and catching up on PL, though I am now deliberating about how best to capture the last month as I have not been taking enough photos.... yes ironic I know as scrappers ought to be full of photo taking enthusiasm.

So to mark my re-emergence in the blogging world, I'm back with a card as well as one Project Life spread to share.

First the card,

Supplies: Studio Calico, Crate Paper, Maya Road, Lawn Fawn, Hero Arts

I decided to play with a brown, yellow and grey scheme and I very much love how it came out. I have also been having lots of fun with the hero arts midtone shadow inks as they have been fantastic to use, giving really good coverage for the acrylic stamps that I have.

Here's a close up look at the details in the card

And here's one of the Project Life layouts as I play catch up in posting

Still like the EP camera's a lot, and the cupcake that you see, it's awesome. I can't remember what exactly is inside and what it is called, but it's a gorgeous combination of chocolate, peanuts, caramel and chocolate balls....mmmm...yum!

That's all for now and will have more soon (:

PROJECT LIFE WEEK 19 & 20

Hi everyone!

I know I have been absent from blog land for awhile, but I'm back with Project Life Week 19 & 20.

For those who are struggling to keep up, give yourself permission to break the rules: not finish one week, not have any photos for the week, only do a single page spread, skip a month. I think that looking back you would realise that you cherish the memories that you managed to document and probably will not be thinking, so what did I do on April 23 2012, five years from now. (though it would be nice to know (: )

So without further ado, Weeks 19 and 20 on a double page spread

This week was a big week about me and my photography and thinking about taking it to the next level. Ironically I didn't take that many photos this week, so a few of the spaces were filled with screen captures and filler cards.

Loved using my Studio Calico Project Life slanted stamps in this week's spread and more washi tape too.

Just a quick close up for a few more details. On another note, I think I'm seeing my handwriting change and evolve.

Kept is simple for this side, and I like is, particularly the journaling card, second from left, with the washi tape and wooden veneer camera. Love it! That grey chevron My Mind's Eye tape is divine and definitely one of my all time favourite designs.

That's it for today. Do leave comments if you have any questions and I'll love to answer them!
